Miss Whysall was previously Principal of a large Primary Academy in North Lincolnshire. Her career has involved varied roles working with young people with a wide range of SEND. For several years she worked as Assistant Head Teacher before being promoted to Deputy Head Teacher in an Outstanding North Lincolnshire Special School.

Miss Whysall is also an active member of the national nasen Specialist Provision Advisory Group and a current practicing Regional Makaton tutor. Whilst her professional interests have focused primarily on the field of Autism, she has also worked with young people who have a wide range of needs including PMLD, SLD, MLD, SMEH, SLCN and complex needs both with specialist and mainstream settings across the 3-19 age range. The Trust is confident that Miss Whysall’s specialism in special education will make Daventry Hill School a success from day one.
Miss Whysall said: “Working alongside EE4A to develop Daventry Hill School and see our plans become reality has been a truly unique and wonderful experience. Both myself and my staff feel honoured and privileged to be part of such a wonderful and much needed new provision for Daventry and its surrounding area. Our ethos is very much based on providing a learning environment that sees and values your child as a unique individual. We have created a school for students with mild to profound learning difficulties, including those with physical disabilities, where we educate the children and young people so that they are fully ready for the next stage of their adult life- we see no limits to what they might achieve.”

Miss Whysall, Head of School, added: “It is a crucial decision time for parents as regards to which school they send their child. At Daventry Hill School we are offering families an alternative choice if they are still undecided and looking for the best education and school environment to meet their child’s needs. Before they make their decision, this event will enable parents and prospective pupils to come and learn what Daventry Hill School will be like.

Admissions are still open for Daventry Hill School. If you would like your child to be part of this new specialist school you can apply for a place by contacting the Education, Health and Care Plans Team at EHCP@northamptonshire.gov.uk or telephoning 0300 126 1000.
