Prior to joining Daventry Hill School I have worked in three secondary schools as a Business Manager. In that time I’ve worked with the Governing body on many complex issues including hiring two new Headteachers, staff redundancies, managing a very large TLR restructure and managing many refurbishment projects including the re-building of a complete Science Block. All of this in addition to managing the school budget of nearly £8M. I managed my last Academy through a Financial Notice to Improve regrettably to its full closure.
Prior to this I created and ran a Musical Instrument company for ten years. It was one of the first internet based music stores in the UK – regrettably despite its huge growth it was not sustainable during the recession as it relied on the sales of high value luxury goods.
The first seventeen years of my working life was spent in the Electronics Industry working for Texas Instruments, Philips and Samsung. I worked in Sales and Marketing in their world class Semiconductor component divisions. My last task in that industry was to build the European Technical Support centre for Texas Instruments.
Music is my main interest and I am a Trombone player. I’m married with one grown up son who is a Professional Trombone player in London.
