Our community is incredibly important to us.
We recognise that the wider community is crucial for the success of our young people. It provides valuable resources, support, and diverse perspectives that enhance student outcomes, strengthen community ties, and foster a sense of belonging.
We strongly believe that we have an important role to play as a school in enhancing the surrounding community.
We are proud to be supported by a network of dedicated business and community partners who play a vital role in enriching the educational experiences of its students. These partnerships exemplify a shared commitment to inclusion, opportunity, and real-world learning for young people with SEND.
Special collaborations with key organisations such as Amazon, Cummins, Volvo, Daventry Rotary Club, and Daventry Food Bank have been instrumental in providing both practical support and meaningful engagement. From volunteering and donations to joint community projects, these partnerships have helped to strengthen the school’s mission of preparing students for life beyond education.
Amazon, Cummins and Volvo have been standout partners, offering tailored employer engagement activities and work experience opportunities that help students explore the world of work in a supportive environment. This hands-on experience is essential for developing employability skills and building confidence.
In addition, a range of local employers—including Daventry Library, Simply Conveyancing, Holborn and Dolphin Nurseries, Kunis, Daventry Food Bank, Zepic Games and Stanwick Lakes —have opened their doors to provide invaluable work experience opportunities and placements. These opportunities allow students to develop practical skills, understand workplace expectations, and take their first steps toward greater independence.
Through these strong and growing partnerships, Daventry Hill School ensures that its students are not only connected to their community but also empowered to become active, capable, and confident members of society.

We are deeply committed to supporting and giving back to both the local and wider community, recognising the importance of inclusion, contribution, and shared growth. As a school, Daventry Hill creates meaningful opportunities for students to engage beyond the classroom, strengthening community ties and promoting lifelong values. Through a rich tapestry of activities, partnerships, and outreach initiatives, the school cultivates a culture where all students – regardless of need – are empowered to make a difference.
At the heart of our approach are its five core values: curiosity, positivity, respect, resilience, and community. These values are not just aspirational; they are lived daily through the school's Preparation for Adulthood (PfA) curriculum. This holistic framework focuses on four key areas: Employment, Independent Living, Friends, Relationships and Community, and Health, ensuring students leave school equipped with the skills, confidence, and self-belief needed for adult life.
Throughout the school year, students across all phases participate in projects and initiatives that reflect these PfA outcomes while also embodying the school’s values. Examples include:
These efforts not only prepare students for the practicalities of adulthood but also demonstrate that every young person – regardless of ability – can contribute meaningfully to society. Daventry Hill School’s community is one where all individuals are valued, supported, and given the tools to thrive, creating a ripple effect of kindness, service, and empowerment in the wider world
We strongly believe we have a role to play in improving provision for all students with SEND, including those outside of our own school community. One way we support this is by offering training and development opportunities to local schools.
We share our calendar of CPD sessions with local schools and invite them to send up to two members of staff to attend our after-school sessions free of charge.
In addition, we offer a bespoke, individualised programme tailored to the needs of each school. This may include an initial meeting with a senior leader, a school visit, sharing of curriculum documentation, and opportunities to shadow our staff in their classrooms.
