Music

At Daventry Hill School, we believe that music is a powerful tool for growth, creativity and expression, and we offer a wide range of musical opportunities for students of all ages and developmental stages.

Using the Charanga music scheme, we tailor each lesson to meet the individual developmental stages and needs of our students. The scheme offers a wide range of musical elements such as rhythm, melody, and dynamics, which are introduced in ways that are both engaging and adaptable.

For our younger students, we use interactive and sensory-based activities, while older students are encouraged to explore more complex concepts and develop their vocal and instrumental skills.

We also celebrate cultural diversity by introducing students to music from around the world, fostering a sense of connection and inclusion.

Our weekly choir sessions provide a space for students to practise singing, build confidence, and express themselves creatively. A highlight of our music program is our participation in Voice in a Million, a special event where our students join thousands of other young voices to perform in a large-scale celebration.

In addition, we offer regular opportunities for students to perform in the local community, allowing them to share their talents and experience the joy of performing in front of others. Through music, we empower our students to discover their voices, develop their social skills, and build self-esteem in a supportive and inclusive environment.
